My Big Girl
I am so proud of my little girl this week. Ivy has given up her pacifier cold turkey. I think it's quite an accomplishment for such a little person. She had been chewing holes in them and I had to throw several in the trash. I decided I wasn't buying anymore new ones and it seems like Don and I are forever looking for lost pacis, so we took the last one away on Monday. On the first night it took her over 30 minutes to settle down at bedtime. She cried and cried for it before finally falling asleep then she woke up at 4:30 am. Last night she was so tired that she walked upstairs by herself to go to bed and fell asleep in a minute. She slept clear through the night too. If I knew it would be this easy, I would have had her give it up a long time ago.
It's been warm the past few days and Ivy has go to spend some time in the backyard. She went right over to her slide and climbed up. We went on a nice walk when I got home from work yesterday. Today it is warm but pouring rain and they are forecasting snow. There's nothing like Indiana weather.
Last night we put together Valentines for Ivy's daycare class. They are having a party tomorrow and I sent Don to the store today to buy cookies. Nothing like getting a bunch of toddlers loaded up on sugar! Last year I was able to keep all her candy for myself, but she'll be on to me this year.
My grandpa has been sick the past few weeks and he was admitted to the hospital on Monday. After running a CAT scan and MRI they still don't know what is wrong with him. They are currently running more tests and he's not sure how much longer he'll be there. My grandma doesn't drive so my mom is taking her to visit him every day. We are all hoping this is nothing serious and that he'll be home soon.
Here's a pic of Ivy on the swingset. I put her snowsuit on because it was so muddy.
Yay, Ivy for giving up your pacifier! Adorable pictures of her.
I hope that your grandpa gets to feeling better. Dirk's grandpa was actually admitted in the hospital yesterday. He has a very vad urinary infection and also a bad infection in his bloodstream. He has not woken up for two days now. We'll see what happens. First my grandpa....now his! When it rains....it truly does POUR!
Have a good weekend friend!
