Meet Sasha

Last Thursday after work Don, Ivy and I went to pick out the newest member of our family. She is a 6 week old Golden Retriever. We got to see the mama dog and the dad too. We had two females to choose from. Apparently 6 weeks is a little too young to be weaned from mom, but I didn't find this out till the weekend. She is doing really well. She whined and cried the first couple nights, but last night we didn't hear a peep out of her. Housetraining is going great too. We take her out about every hour when we are home. We picked a rotten time of the year to be going outside every hour! We have snow on the ground right now, but she doesn't mind it. She is getting really frisky and playful. She'll chase after Ivy nipping at her heels. Ivy puts her finger up and tells her "No!"

I've been reading up on dog obedience. We've been introducing her to new people and other dogs so she'll get along with everyone when she is older. I've been working on teaching her her name and the sit command. We are trying to teach her good manners, like no sitting on the couch. It is hard now, because she is so little and cute. I let her sleep on my lap while I watched the Oscars last night. Pretty soon though, she'll be 70 pounds and I won't want her up there.

Here are some pics I took of Sasha and the kids this weekend.
